Is SEEN the Right Fit for Your Operation?
SEEN sensors are a highly effective safety solution—but like any technology, they work best in the right environment. Review the questions below to see if SEEN is a good match for your business. Click each section to learn more.
-
No = Great Fit
If your layout requires pedestrians to work near mobile equipment, adding an active safety control like SEEN is a smart way to reduce risk. SEEN sensors provide practical, reliable protection for people in high-risk zones.Yes = Still a Good Fit
Even with full separation, SEEN sensors can help prevent machine-to-machine or machine-to-property collisions. They’re also useful for monitoring exclusion zones, doorways, and drop-zones where occasional pedestrian access may occur. -
Yes = Great Fit
If your workers already wear high-vis PPE with reflective tape, they should be easily detectable by the system.No = Possible Fit
If your workers don’t currently wear reflective tape, the system won’t effectively detect them. SEEN sensors are designed to work with standard day/night high-vis PPE that includes reflective tape.However, if your focus is detecting property or fixed hazards, the system can still be a great fit—objects can be easily marked with reflective tape for reliable detection.
-
Fixed (like a warehouse, depot or processing facility) = Great Fit
SEEN sensors are predominantly used in fixed locations like warehouses, depots, manufacturing facilities etc., where material handling machines operate in close proximity to pedestrian workers, and where wearing high-vis PPE is mandatory. Unlike 360 degree proximity detection systems, SEEN sensors target critical risk zones only, which helps to avoid the problem of over-detection, especially in confined spaces.
Variable (like a construction site) = Not always a good fit
Although SEEN sensors are used on a wide range of machines and applications, some environments –like construction– are not always a natural fit. Consider: Will everyone on site always be wearing reflective high-vis safety gear? Will implementation be challenging due to numerous different contractors and equipment lease providers on-site? Do your work-sites have a lot of reflective road-cones or reflective tape that may cause irrelevant alerts?

-
Yes = Great Fit
SEEN sensors don’t rely on a clear optical image to detect, making them ideal for harsh environments with dust, dirt, moisture, condensation, or poor lighting. They work reliably in total darkness, bright sun glare, and extreme conditions.No = Great Fit
If your site is clean, dry, and well-lit, SEEN sensors will perform even better. Their proven reliability in tough environments means they’re more than capable in ideal conditions. -
No = Great Fit
If reflective tape is limited to high-visibility PPE and essential safety infrastructure, the system will deliver highly relevant alerts, providing the best safety outcome.Yes = Possible Issue
Excess reflective tape on non-critical items can reduce the system’s effectiveness by triggering unnecessary alerts. However, in many cases, this tape isn’t essential and can be removed or covered to improve system performance. -
Yes = Great Fit
SEEN sensors are designed for scalable, fleet-wide deployment. They’re simple to install with minimal downtime and can be retrofitted to existing machines or added to new equipment. Installation can be handled by your OEM, equipment provider, or in-house team.No = Great Fit
SEEN’s ease of setup makes it ideal for operations of any size. Whether you have one machine or many, installation is quick, cost-effective, and can be completed by your OEM, equipment provider, or an auto-electrician.
